Dope.de believes that Evolutionary Molecular Design™ (EMD) is the most comprehensive and efficient drug design technology available today. Lead generation and optimization are part of the Dope.de process. Bioavailability prediction and other aspects of drug development are also included in the design process.

  • Focused therapeutic activity
    EMD creates competitive agonists or antagonists with optimized binding affinity and nanomolar range activity as potential drug leads. This is accomplished by conferring structural and electronic properties related to receptor subtype specificity and selectivity. We use a combination of six to eight active and inactive ligands as the basis of design and can incorporate focused therapeutic activity without traditional structured-based design tools.
  • Expand sources of design
    As the basis of novel drug lead design, EMD utilizes hits from diverse sources, including combinatorial chemistry, high throughput screening, endogenous substances or natural product screening. This means accessibility to relatively unexplored therapeutic areas.
  • Ease of synthesis
    EMD evolves chemical scaffolds that adhere to the rules of chemistry and design constraints for synthetic access. This ensures that the design output is rational and ranked for synthetic ease.
  • Targeted library of lead candidates
    EMD evolves novel biologically relevant chemical scaffolds. This ability can be used to design virtual molecule libraries focused on a targeted therapeutic activity. Library generation is finite (less than 100 molecules) and is based on existing solid phase combinatorial chemistry, ensuring a diversity of drug leads/designs that are transferable to the practise of synthesis.
  • Lifecycle management or novel chemistry
    EMD is a tool that allows the proactive management of the lifecycle of drug products approaching the end of their patent life. As a de novo discovery tool, it introduces diversity into the chemical scaffolds of existing drugs and generates novel molecules.
  • Recapture value
    Structurally diverse hits with moderate biological activity can be input into EMD for optimization. Through the resulting leads, research investment in proprietary compounds that have fallen from the pipeline can be recaptured.
